Farming Crickets In The Garage
Schubugs was founded by Zachery Schubert in 2018 through his Bachelor of Nutrition studies at Uni SA. Zachery moved down to Adelaide to follow his dream of playing for Australia at the Olympics for Beach Volleyball. He is still following his passion for beach volleyball and continues to work on the farm when home. Zachery started farming crickets in his garage in hopes of creating his own protein powder because of the nutritional benefits crickets have.

The farm grew in size quickly
The First Container
Zachery decided to buy a shipping container and conviced his father (Tim Schubert) to farm crickets on the family farm. Since then the farm has grown in size and now managed by Tim. Schubugs is located 10km out of Loxton, South Australia.
Inside The Cricket Container
Tim has been dry land farming in this region for 20 years and with recent years of drought the family has turned to alternative farming practices. Crickets are a sustainable source of protein and perfect for the regions hot/dry climate. We offer high quality crickets for pet feed and working towards human consumption. We hope to provide a new industry and jobs for our region that we love.
